Exchanges with a direct BTC/USDT market: Binance, OKX, Coinbase, Crypto.com, Kanga Global, Bitstamp, Kraken. Elsewhere you need a currency conversion or an intermediate currency, which usually adds cost.

Counting only the trading fee and slippage, OKX wins, but once deposit, conversion and withdrawal are included, Binance comes out cheapest.

Binance leads both for 250 USDT and for 25,000 USDT, so it also has the deepest market for this pair.

Even for 25,000 USDT, splitting the order across exchanges brings no benefit, so one exchange is enough.

You deposit USDT with a crypto transfer from another wallet or exchange; the sender pays the network fee.

What to know about BTC

Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency (since 2009), with a supply cap of 21 million coins. When buying, the rate is only part of the story: the withdrawal fee to your own wallet is a fixed amount of BTC, so on small purchases it can eat several percent. Some exchanges let you withdraw via the Lightning Network, which is usually cheaper. For large purchases order book depth matters more than the fee, because a big order eats through ever more expensive offers.

Paying with USDT: what to watch for

Paying with USDT means depositing it by crypto transfer from another wallet or exchange. Choose a network the receiving exchange supports and double-check the address and memo. USDT pairs are deepest on global exchanges (Binance, OKX), while MiCA-licensed exchanges may not support it.
